Cyprus October 2023: Mini Countryman storms into #1, sales up 41.4%

Data shared with us by our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT show new car sales in Cyprus growing by a fantastic 41.4% year-on-year in October to 1,165 units. This means the year-to-date volume is now up 28.8% to 12,745. Toyota (stable) takes the lead of the brands ranking with 12.5% share, with Hyundai (+25.5%) also overtaking YTD leader Kia (-4.5%) struggling mightily. Mini (+4650%) skyrockets to 8.2% at #4, followed by a very weak Volkswagen (-14.3%). The rest of the Top 10 all beat the market, with BMW (+333.3%) the most dynamic above Mercedes (+220.8%), Nissan (+100%), Audi (+87.5%) and Renault (+73.1%).
Model-wise, the Mini Countryman (+355%) storms into the pole position for the 2nd time this year after last March with 7.8% share. It is now up to #4 in the YTD order. The Hyundai Tucson (-21.9%) follows at a distance and 4.9% share. The Toyota Yaris (-1.9%) is also in difficulty as is the Kia Stonic (-32.1%). In contrast the Nissan Qashqai (+127.8%) and Toyota RAV4 (+200%) both impress. The new Renault Arkana is up to #7, its best ranking since last February (#5). The Hyundai Kona (+533.3%), Toyota Corolla (+100%) and VW T-Cross (+88.9%) stand out below.
