2024 Lexus LS Gets Welcomed Updates

The 2024 Lexus LS is receiving a warm welcome from car enthusiasts and luxury sedan aficionados with its array of notable updates and enhancements. This flagship sedan from Lexus is set to elevate the driving experience and redefine luxury for the new model year.

One of the standout features of the 2024 Lexus LS is its enhanced infotainment system. Building on the upgrades introduced in 2023, the new model year brings additional tech features to the forefront. Voice control and wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have become standard, ensuring seamless integration with your smartphone. In a noteworthy move, Lexus has bid farewell to the Remote Touch Interface trackpad in favor of a more user-friendly 12.3-inch infotainment screen.

The luxury experience is further elevated in the 2024 LS 500 with the addition of a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a head-up display, offering crucial information at the driver’s fingertips. Additionally, digital key connectivity has been introduced, making it easier to interact with and unlock the vehicle. For those who value convenience, both the LS 500 and the LS 500h hybrid now come with standard wireless phone charging.

Safety has also been a priority for Lexus in this new model year. The LS 500 models boast the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which includes a comprehensive suite of electronic driver-assist features. This includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. Notably, the Proactive Driving Assist feature helps the driver maintain a safe distance from surrounding vehicles, and there’s an emergency stop feature designed to slow the car to a halt if the driver appears incapacitated.

For LS 500h models, the previous Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 driver aids are standard, but there’s an option to equip the Lexus Teammate hands-free driver assist system, which was introduced in the 2022 model year. This advanced system can manage acceleration, steering, and braking on single-lane highways, execute lane changes, and navigate certain interchanges and traffic jams. However, it’s important to note that the driver must remain attentive and monitor the system at all times.

While the exterior styling of the 2024 Lexus LS remains largely unchanged since its introduction in 2018, there’s a fresh Silver Illusion color option for those looking to stand out on the road.

Under the hood, the powertrain options remain the same. The LS 500 is powered by a potent twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine, delivering an impressive 416 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission and offers a choice of rear-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive, with an estimated 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds.

For eco-conscious drivers, the LS 500h combines a naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 with a hybrid system, providing a total system output of 354 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard for this model, and it’s estimated to reach 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds.

The 2024 Lexus LS is expected to arrive at dealerships later in the year, offering a starting price of $80,685 for the base rear-wheel drive LS 500, including a $1,350 destination charge. This represents a price increase of $3,150 compared to the 2023 model, with a $200 increase in the destination charge. Meanwhile, the LS 500h starts at $115,560, reflecting the pinnacle of Lexus luxury and innovation.
