New Car Preview: 2025 Toyota Crown Signia SUV

Toyota is broadening its Crown lineup in America with the introduction of the 2025 Crown Signia SUV, marking the second Crown model in the United States and the latest addition to the renowned family. Scheduled to hit US dealerships in the summer of 2024, the Crown Signia brings a unique blend of style, practicality, and upscale features to Toyota’s lineup.

Under the hood, the Crown Signia boasts a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine complemented by two electric motors, delivering a total output of 243 horsepower. This power is efficiently transmitted to all four wheels through an electronic continuously variable transmission (e-CVT). The inclusion of a hybrid powertrain aligns with Toyota’s commitment to environmentally friendly options and enhanced fuel efficiency.

The exterior of the Crown Signia showcases Toyota’s Hammerhead front-end treatment, a design already seen on the regular Crown, the new Prius, and the bZ4X electric car. The front fascia features a monochrome radiator grille and slim headlights, contributing to the vehicle’s distinctive appearance. The Crown Signia will be available in two trim levels: XLE and Limited.

The XLE trim comes well-equipped with standard 19-inch wheels, eight-way power-adjustable/heated front seats, SofTex synthetic leather upholstery, a power-operated tailgate, a heated leather steering wheel, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Limited model offers additional luxury with features such as a fixed panoramic glass roof, 21-inch wheels, ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, a digital rearview mirror, and an 11-speaker JBL audio system. Color options for the Crown Signia include Black, Bronze Age, Finish Line Red, Storm Cloud, and Oxygen White.

The cabin of the Crown Signia prioritizes comfort for all occupants, riding on the TNGA-K platform known for its flexibility and utilized in high-end vehicles like the Toyota Century SUV. The front side windows are acoustic glass, and the engine cover incorporates sound-absorbing material, contributing to a serene driving experience. The interior design features a “lounge-like” arrangement for the second row, complete with cup holders, USB-C ports, air vents, and a rear bottle holder.

In terms of technology, the 2025 Crown Signia offers a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and infotainment touchscreen. The multimedia system includes Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, with the Limited model benefiting from a premium JBL sound system. Safety features are comprehensive, with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 providing lane departure alert, lane tracing assist, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, and eight airbags.

While Toyota has not disclosed pricing for the Crown Signia, it is expected to arrive with a higher price tag than the regular Crown. Anticipated starting prices are around $42,000, potentially reaching close to $50,000 for the Limited model. Toyota hints at the possibility of introducing a plug-in hybrid powertrain for the American market, further expanding the Crown Signia’s appeal.

The 2025 Crown Signia holds promise as a sophisticated and feature-rich addition to Toyota’s lineup, offering a distinctive blend of style, performance, and advanced technology. The upcoming months are likely to unveil more details, including pricing and additional features, creating heightened anticipation among automotive enthusiasts.
