New car sales in Kuwait gain 17.9% year-on-year in 2023 to 133,751. Toyota (+5.4%) significantly trails the market and sees its share thaw from 36.5% a year ago to 32.6% now, still ultra dominant as no other manufacturer manages to hold a 10% share. The next three carmakers all grow faster than the market: Nissan is up 42.9% to 8.2% share, Kia up 46.6% to 6.4%, Ford up 57.7% to 6% and Mitsubishi up 20.3% to 5.4%. Chevrolet for its part is off -25.5% and four spots to #6. Lexus (+79.6%) and Changan (+38.2%) also shine, the latter breaking into the annual Top 10 for the first time.
In the models lane, the Toyota Land Cruiser (+60.4%) spectacularly reclaims the top spot off the Toyota Prado (-51.5%) in complete freefall to #2. The Toyota Camry stays in third place, distancing the Nissan Sunny and Patrol. The Ford Territory (+681.5%) ends its first full year in market at a fantastic 6th place.
