Beats for the beasts: Berklee students play for the animals at Franklin Park Zoo
Franklin Park Zoo animals got the chance to get up and dance Sunday when Berklee students stopped by to play for the abnormally furry audience.
The Berklee student-led group, The Movement, gave a special performance for animals and visitors at the zoo at noon Sunday. The event aimed to highlight the “importance of enrichment in animal care and the universal impact of music,” the group said.
The music can “stimulate animals’ senses, encouraging them to engage with their surroundings through their inherent instincts and behaviors,” The Movement detailed.
The Movement was founded through Berklee College of Music in 2014 by Eve Alpern and does musical instruction, youth mentorship and outreach performances.
