Avatar: The Last Airbender Gets A New Showrunner Again

Although Netflix has recently renewed its live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender, Albert Kim who served as the showrunner is bidding farewell to the show.

In a media report by Variety, Jabbar Raisani, who is known for Lost in Space and Christine Boylan who came into the limelight with Poker Face is set to serve as the executive producer for the next two seasons. Meanwhile, this decision came after Albert Kim announced his exit from the show. Besides, although Netflix has yet to announce the change of Guard, Albert Kim will work for Disney Plus where he will serve as an executive producer for the streamer’s Percy Jackson and the Olympian series. He is also set to develop other fresh projects.

Going back, in 2020, Albert Kim became an Avatar showrunner after Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino unexpectedly left the show owing to creative differences; the duo were the original co-creators of Nickelodeon of the Avatar series. Following their exit, DiMartino and Konietzko made their return to Nickelodeon for the production of more Avatar series under the production’s Avatar studio banner. On the contrary, Jabbar Raisani and Christine Boylan, who have worked on some of the acclaimed projects, are expected to create some of the most creative and excellent episodes in the series.

Additionally, going with the show’s history, along with the change of showrunners, Avatar has produced some of the hit episodes.

Avatar: The Last Airbender, the American animated fantasy action television series, with a higher rating success, earned immense appreciation for its characters, cultural references, direction, soundtrack, humour, and themes.
