Chrysler Recalling 286,000 Vehicles over Airbag Inflator Issue
Chrysler has initiated a recall affecting approximately 286,000 vehicles across the United States due to a concerning manufacturing flaw associated with the side curtain airbag inflators, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Friday. This defect raises the risk of the airbag inflators rupturing, potentially leading to the release of sharp metal fragments that could pose serious harm to occupants, including the possibility of injury or even fatalities.
The recall specifically targets certain models within the 2018-2021 production range of Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 vehicles. This precautionary measure underscores Chrysler’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its customers. By addressing this issue promptly, Chrysler aims to mitigate any potential risks associated with the defective airbag inflators.
