Report: Lynx agree to two-year deal with forward Alanna Smith
The Lynx made a splash in free agency Friday, reportedly agreeing to a two-year deal with forward Alanna Smith. ESPN reported the deal.
The 27-year-old Australian is entering his sixth season in the WNBA. A reserve through her first four seasons, Smith went to Chicago in 2023 and started 35 games. She averaged 9.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.3 steals per game, serving as a vital piece for the playoff team.
Smith made 63 percent of her 2-point shot attempts.
The Stanford product gives Minnesota another big who fits the way coach Cheryl Reeve likes to play offense with her ability to operate in space and find others via the pass.
