2027 GMC HUMMER EV ICON | 25 Celebrates 25 Years of HUMMER With Electric Supertruck Style
GMC is celebrating 25 years of HUMMER with a special edition that leans directly into the nameplate’s larger-than-life history. The new 2027 GMC HUMMER EV ICON | 25 arrives as a limited-run model inspired by the original HUMMER attitude, but reworked through the lens of today’s all-electric supertruck. It will be offered on 2X and 3X trims of both the HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV, giving buyers a more exclusive way to own one of the most recognizable EVs on the road.
The most obvious throwback is the exterior color. GMC calls it ICON, and it draws inspiration from the bright yellow paint that helped make the HUMMER H2 so instantly recognizable in the early 2000s. Paired with a new Jet Black interior and a black front approach shield, the ICON | 25 edition has a sharper and more deliberate look while still carrying the visual drama expected from a HUMMER. It is not subtle, and that is exactly the point.
GMC is also giving the anniversary model details that separate it from a regular HUMMER EV. Each ICON | 25 will feature serialized badging on the instrument panel, unique infotainment graphics tied to HUMMER heritage drive modes, and an exclusive keepsake marking the 25-year milestone. Those touches should matter to collectors and longtime HUMMER fans, especially since this edition is being positioned as a limited-production tribute rather than a simple color package.
The public debut is set for the 2026 ESPYS in New York City, which feels fitting for a vehicle built around presence and celebrity-level attention. GMC is returning as the Official Vehicle Sponsor of the event, and the HUMMER EV ICON | 25 will be shown in front of an audience tied to sports, entertainment, and culture. That is very much in line with HUMMER’s history, as the original H2 became as much a pop-culture symbol as it was an SUV.
Beyond the anniversary treatment, the 2027 HUMMER EV lineup brings some meaningful updates. All 2027 HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV models will come with a native North American Charging Standard inlet, making charging access more convenient as the industry continues moving toward NACS. GMC will also continue offering available vehicle-to-home bidirectional charging when paired with the proper GM Energy equipment, allowing a compatible HUMMER EV to help power a properly equipped home during an outage.
Capability remains a major part of the HUMMER EV formula. Available features include 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk and King Crab, Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, Extract Mode that can raise the vehicle by about 6 inches, available Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance, the Infinity Roof with removable Sky Panels, and up to 18 available camera views on the Pickup. GMC is also adding new exterior colors for 2027, including Dark Ridge, Azurite Blue, Dark Ember, Deep Void Matte, and the ICON color used on the anniversary edition, along with two new 22-inch wheel options.
Performance still lands in supertruck territory. The 2027 GMC HUMMER EV 3X Pickup will offer up to 1,160 horsepower, 13,000 lb-ft of torque, and a 0-to-60 mph time as quick as 2.8 seconds when equipped with the optional 24-module battery. Production of the 2027 HUMMER EV and ICON | 25 is scheduled to begin later this year at GM’s Factory ZERO Assembly Center in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan, with sales planned for the U.S. and Canada. Pricing will be announced closer to production, but one thing is already clear: GMC is using the ICON | 25 to remind everyone that HUMMER may have changed eras, but it has not lost its ability to make an entrance.
