Cyprus June 2026: BYD up to record 9.8% share, places Atto 3 at #2

The BYD Atto 3 is the 2nd best-selling vehicle in Cyprus in June. (Evo model pictured)

According to our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, new car sales in Cyprus skid -15.9% year-on-year in June to just 1,133 units. The H1 2026 volume is now down -11.9% to 7,244. Despite a ghastly YoY fall, Kia (-36%) remains the most popular carmaker in the country, albeit by just one sale above Toyota (+19%) in outstanding shape. Newcomer BYD repeats at an all-time high #3 but smashes its volume (111) and share (9.8%) records. Hyundai (-43.8%) falls apart and #4 and Skoda (+30.6%) rounds out the Top 5. BMW (+24.4%) also shines at #6.

The Kia Stonic (-8.2%) confirms it is the best-selling nameplate in Cyprus at 5.9% share vs. 5.4% so far this year. The new BYD Atto 3 surges from outside the May Top 20 directly into a new record 2nd place, eclipsing its previous best of #3 reached last January. In fact BYD also places the Seal U at #7 and the Dolphin Surf at #11. The Renault Captur (+650%) stuns at #5 and the Toyota Yaris Cross (+81%) also impresses. The Ford Puma (+188.9%) also posts a surreal gain in the remainder of the Top 10. The Top 14 best-selling models are all SUVs.
