Porsche and Pixar Reunite for Toy Story 5 with Three Special 911 Creations
Porsche is heading back into Pixar territory, and this time the spotlight shifts from Cars to Toy Story 5. After the memorable Sally Special project a few years ago, the German sports car maker is once again blending automotive design with animated storytelling, this time through three one-off Porsche 911s inspired by Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and Woody. It is the kind of collaboration that feels playful on the surface, but it also makes a lot of sense when you consider how both brands trade on emotion, nostalgia, and instantly recognizable design.
What makes this especially interesting is that Porsche is using its Sonderwunsch program to bring the trio to life, which means these will not be simple sticker packages or cartoon-themed gimmicks. Sonderwunsch is Porsche’s high-end personalization arm, the same kind of operation built to translate ideas, colors, and themes into genuinely bespoke vehicles. According to the project’s early description, the goal was to capture the spirit of each Toy Story character through form, materials, and color rather than create something overly literal, and that approach should make these builds far more compelling to enthusiasts and collectors alike.
For now, Porsche is keeping the cars under wraps, but the teaser image already has people guessing. Two of the covered vehicles appear to wear classic 911 proportions, while the third hints at something more aggressive, complete with what looks like a serious rear wing. That naturally opens the door to speculation that Buzz Lightyear’s themed car could end up being the wild child of the group, perhaps based on one of Porsche’s sharper performance-focused variants. Even without the final reveal, the concept alone is enough to stir interest because it taps into two very different fan bases that overlap more than you might think.
The three cars are expected to make their public debut at the Toy Story 5 red carpet premiere in Los Angeles on June 19, 2026, which also lines up with the film’s theatrical release. After that, all three are slated to head to auction, with proceeds set to benefit nonprofit organizations that support children and communities in need. That gives the whole project a little more weight than a typical promotional tie-in. It is still fun, still theatrical, and still very much designed to get people talking, but there is also a charitable angle that makes the collaboration land a little better. For Porsche, it is another smart way to show that the 911 can still be a canvas for imagination, even when the inspiration comes from a toy box.
