The Twins made a minor move on Thursday, claiming right-handed relief pitcher Ryan Jensen off waivers from the Miami Marlins. For Jensen, who has yet to make his major league debut, the Twins mark his third organization this offseason and fourth since last summer.

Jensen spent most of last season with the Chicago Cubs, but was claimed off waivers on Aug. 8 by the Seattle Mariners. He was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Nov. 22, claimed by the Marlins five days later, then designated for assignment again on Dec. 20.

The 26-year-old posted a 5.32 earned-run average last season in 64 1/3 innings between Double and Triple-A as he made the transition from starting pitcher to reliever.  After being claimed midseason by the Mariners, he finished his year by posting a 3.18 ERA in 11 1/3 innings with Triple-A Tacoma.

Jensen, who was selected late in the first round of the 2019 draft, will come to camp as a depth reliever option for the Twins, who recently made their first major league addition of the offseason by signing veteran reliever Josh Staumont.
