Brown’s absence followed comments from head coach Bill Belichick on Wednesday morning saying he expected Brown to be at practice. The nine-year veteran was a healthy scratch last weekend at Buffalo following weeks of internal frustration with his effort and engagement, per Herald sources. Brown also missed practice last Wednesday due to a reported illness.
Bryant has not missed a practice in weeks. He dealt with a chest injury last week and played the fourth-most snaps of any Patriots defender this season.
The Patriots will release their first injury report of the week Wednesday evening.
