Belgium September 2025: Volkswagen #1, BMW (-43.6%), Tesla (-49%) struggle
Volkswagen is the best-selling carmaker in Belgium for the third time in the past 5 months.
The Belgian new car market is stable in September at -0.5% year-on-year to 31,519 units. The year-to-date tally remains in frank negative however at -9.2% to 323,868. This month Volkswagen (-1.2%) snaps the brands top spot for the third time in the past 5 months with 10.2% share. BMW (-43.6%) is in complete freefall at #2 and 8.3% of the market vs. 10.7% so far this year. Mercedes (+9.9%) remains in third place above Renault (+10.9%) and Audi (-2.6%). Dacia (+19.8%), Skoda (+15.7%) and Peugeot (+14.7%) all impress in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, MG (+560.9%), Citroen (+115.6%), Fiat (+100.7%), BYD (+54%) and Hyundai (+52.4%) stand out. Tesla sinks -49%.
