Boston weather forecast: Winds to remain on a warm Saturday before a cool Sunday
Gusty winds that had people’s hair blowing all over the place on Friday are expected to pick up again on Saturday as the first half of the weekend’s warmth drops to cooler temperatures on Sunday.
Boston Logan Airport saw average winds of 25 mph throughout the day Friday, with gusts soaring past 30 mph.
Those speeds are forecast to taper below 20 mph in the late morning hours on Saturday before gusts pick up again to around 25 mph in the afternoon and evening, according to area meteorologists.
Bay Staters are in for a dry and mild first half of the weekend, with temperatures closing in on 60 degrees which the National Weather Service Boston says would be above normal for this early in the spring.
A cold front is expected to move across the region Saturday night, “bringing windy and cooler conditions through Sunday,” with temperatures forecast to hover around 46 degrees under sunny skies turning cloudy at night.
