Patriots re-signing veteran safety to one-year contract
The Patriots re-signed safety Jaylinn Hawkins to a one-year contract worth up to $2.2 million, a source confirmed to the Herald.
Hawkins, 27, spent the 2024 season with the Patriots, starting seven games on defense while registering 48 tackles with one pass breakup, one fumble recovery and three tackles for loss. He was also a key contributor on special teams.
Hawkins re-joins Kyle Dugger, Jabrill Peppers, Marte Mapu, Dell Pettus, Brenden Schooler and Mark Perry on the Patriots’ safety depth chart.
The 6-foot-1, 208-pound defender entered the league with the Falcons as a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent the 2023 season with the Chargers.
ESPN’s Mike Reiss was first to report the re-signing.
