Person dies after falling from MassDOT building in downtown Boston
A person died after falling from the MassDOT building in downtown Boston on Thursday.
Authorities consider the death a suicide, which the Herald does not usually report on but does so in this situation because of the very public setting of the death.
Boston Police contacted the Massachusetts State Police shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday to investigate the death of a person falling from “an unspecified height” from 10 Park Plaza — which is home to MassDOT, the MBTA, and features several other tenants.
Boston EMS declared the person dead at the scene, according to Mass State Police.
People experiencing thoughts of suicide can reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. The crisis center operates 24/7 to help people in an emotional crisis.
