Bret Mattice made four 3-point baskets and scored a team-high 19 points as Eden Valley-Watkins defeated Milaca 44-40 in the third-place game of the St. John’s Prep Tournament Saturday in Collegeville.

EV-W (3-1) led by 14 points at halftime, but Brandon Kiel helped the Wolves (1-4) rally in the second half.

Kiel scored a game-high 24 points.

Jared Streit added nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds for the Eagles.

EV-W plays host to No. 1-ranked Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 3 in Eden Valley.
