Barlow qualifies for state tournament
The Hutchinson boys cross country had a ninth-place finish Tuesday in the Section 2AA Championship at Lake Marion south of Hutchinson, and the girls finished 10th.
The Tigers’ top runner of the day was sophomore Isaiah Barlow, who finished 10th overall to just make the cut and qualify for the state tournament meet Saturday, Nov. 4, at St. Olaf College. This is the first time he has ever qualified for state, and he was the only Hutch runner to make the cut for both the boys and girls.
Dassel-Cokato also had a good performance with the boys team finishing 14th and the girls taking ninth. Troy Koivisto led the Chargers with a fifth-place finish to qualify for his fourth straight state meet.
The top two boys teams were Chanhassen and Marshall, while Shakopee and Chanhassen led the girls races. All four will compete in the state championship.
