Meeker County Sheriff Report 9/16/16 – 9/18/16

Friday Sept. 16, 2016

On the 16th at 1:56 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a car/deer accident on County State Aid Highway 2, Forest Prairie Township. Upon arrival the deputy assisted with removing the dead deer and car parts from the roadway.

On the 16th at 6:28 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic situation at a residence on 573rd Avenue, Greenleaf Township. A juvenile male was arrested for domestic assault and a report will be filed.

On the 16th at 7:36 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a dog complaint at a residence on 255th Street, Litchfield Township. A short time later a passerby picked up and brought the female Husky to the Litchfield Dog Pound. The dog was later released to its owner.

On the 16th at 9:55 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a driving complaint on eastbound US Highway 12, Darwin Township. The deputy was unable to locate the vehicle and the information was referred to the MN State Patrol and the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

On the 16th at 11:15 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a dog complaint at a residence on 586th Avenue, Greenleaf Township. The deputy gave the owner a warning.

On the 16th at 1:36 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a scam attempt at a residence on 193rd Street, Greenleaf Township.

On the 16th at 3:47 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a driving complaint on County State Aid Highway 34, Darwin Township. The deputy was unable to locate the vehicle.

On the 16th at 4:44 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office assisted the New Ulm Police Department in attempting to locate an individual at a residence on 604th Avenue, Manannah Township. The deputy found that the individual no longer lived at the residence.

On the 16th at 6:09 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to an alarm on 3rd Street South, City of Dassel. The deputy checked the building and property and it was determined to be a false alarm.

On the 16th at 6:45 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office assisted the Annandale Police Department in delivering a message to an individual at a residence on County State Aid Highway 19, City of Kingston.

On the 16th at 9:42 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to assist the Eden Valley Police Department with a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on State Street North, City of Eden Valley.

On the 16th at 10:05 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office took a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on County State Aid Highway 28, Greenleaf Township.

On the 16th at 10:15 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a driving complaint near the intersection of US Highway 12 and MN Highway 22, Litchfield Township. The deputies located the vehicle and after investigation arrested the driver Josue Salinas Juarez, age 24, of Litchfield, for Driving While Intoxicated.

On the 16th at 11:49 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to assist the Eden Valley Police Department in arresting an individual at a residence on State Street North, City of Eden Valley.

Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016

On the 17th at 12:00 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of suspicious activity near a residence on 295th Street, Forest City Township. The deputies checked the area and made contact with a few individuals who were preparing for hunting in the area in the morning.

On the 17th at 1:39 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to an alarm on MN Highway 4, City of Grove City. The deputies checked the building and property and found an open door and, after doing an interior walk through, secured the building.

On the 17th at 3:22 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to an alarm on MN Highway 4, City of Grove City. The deputy checked the building and property and the cause for the alarm could not be located.

On the 17th at 4:59 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office observed suspicious vehicles on South Ripley Drive, City of Litchfield. The deputy made contact with individuals who were advised of park hours and to move on.

On the 17th at 9:01 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a dog complaint at a residence on 260th Street, Litchfield Township. The resident brought a female tan and white Pit Bull with a black collar to the Litchfield Dog Pound.

On the 17th at 1:11 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residence on 591st Avenue, Litchfield Township.

On the 17th at 4:15 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to and took a report of a dog complaint at a residence on 582nd Avenue, Litchfield Township.

On the 17th at 5:49 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic situation at a residence on 2nd Street South, Dassel. The deputy made contact with both parties, mediated the situation, and there were no further issues.

On the 17th at 6:43 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to and dispatched Eden Valley Rescue Squad and Gold Cross Ambulance for an off-road vehicle accident with injuries at a residence on 587th Avenue, Manannah Township. One individual was transported to Paynesville Hospital and a report was filed.

On the 17th at 8:07 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on MN Highway 24, Litchfield Township. The deputies checked the buildings and property and found that the vehicle had left prior to their arrival.

On the 17th at 9:48 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a barking dog complaint at a residence on 4th Street South, City of Grove City. The deputies made contact with the owner who was advised of the complaint and the dogs were taken inside.

On the 17th at 10:38 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of 205th Street and County State Aid Highway 9, Ellsworth Township. The deputy made contact with two individuals and determined all was okay.

On the 17th at 10:48 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office observed an unoccupied stalled vehicle at the intersection of MN Highway 15 and MN Highway 24, North Kingston. The deputy determined the vehicle was obstructing the roadway and a tow removed the vehicle and there were no further issues.

On the 17th at 11:42 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a fireworks complaint at a residence on 1st Street North, City of Dassel. The deputy spoke with the homeowner who was warned about unlawful fireworks and that they were to discontinue.

Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016

On the 18th at 4:42 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic disturbance near the intersection of Friedman Avenue and Stearns Avenue, City of Eden Valley. The deputy found it to be a verbal incident only and assisted an individual in standing by and waiting for a ride for them.

On the 18th at 5:19 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office issued a deer possession tag for a car/deer accident on County State Aid Highway 9, Ellsworth Township.

On the 18th at 7:17 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to and took a report of a one-vehicle rollover on County State Aid Highway 3, Manannah Township. No injuries were reported.

On the 18th at 7:30 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to and took a report of a one-vehicle property damage accident at the intersection of 285th Street and 650th Avenue, Forest City Township. No injuries were reported.

On the 18th at 9:33 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a report of suspicious activity at a business on North Armstrong Avenue, Litchfield.

On the 18th at 10:28 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a report of motor vehicle tampering at a business on Atlantic Avenue East, Dassel.

On the 18th at 11:22 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stray peacock in a yard on 290th Street, Harvey Township. A deputy responded and located the owner who was not able to catch the bird.

On the 18th at 9:48 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of unsafe conditions near the intersection of MN Highway 7 and County State Aid Highway 35, City of Cedar Mills. The deputy located the deer carcass and removed it from the roadway and there were no further issues.

On the 18th at 10:11 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a car/deer accident on MN Highway 22, Greenleaf Township. The deputy made contact with three separate drivers who hit or ran over the deer; all drivers were okay and able to drive from the scene and the deer carcass was removed from the roadway.
