Uruguay October 2024: Fiat (+53.1%) surges ahead in biggest market in 7 years
Fiat reaches 15.7% in Uruguay in October.
The Uruguayan new car market shoots up 17.9% to 6,410 units in October. This is a particularly good performance given October 2023 was already up 15.6% on the year prior. In fact, it’s the highest monthly volume reached in Uruguay in almost 7 years: since December 2017 (6,523). The year-to-date is up 8.8% to 50,551 as a result. This month Fiat (+53.1%) posts a stellar score at 15.7% share vs. 13.1% so far this year. In contrast the year-to-date leader Chevrolet (-39.5%) is in complete freefall and can only muster 10.4% share vs. 15.8% YTD. Volkswagen (+32.9%) also beat sth market at #3 as do BYD (+189.7%), Citroen (+48.1%), Hyundai (+32.5%) and Nissan (+28.8%) in the remainder of the Top 10.
