Farmington school board election: Kyle Christensen, Hannah Johnson and Kelsey Jezierski win seats

Kyle Christensen, Hannah Johnson and Kelsey Jezierski won the race for school board members in District 192 during Tuesday’s election, Nov. 5, 2024.

Christensen received 24% of the vote, Johnson received 23% and Jezierski 19%.

Increasing focus on academic growth and development, enhancing policies that reduce distractions in the classroom and improving equity in health benefits among employee groups are some of Christensen’s priorities, according to his campaign website.

“I believe that better communities are built through service and cooperation,” states Christensen’s campaign website.

Johnson has served as school board chair and member for 4 years. She told the Pioneer Press that she is “a strong advocate with a strong work ethic who brings a balanced perspective to the table.”

Some of Johnson’s priorities include communicating the importance of the voter-approved operating levy, stabilizing school funding and effectively implement new strategies to support literacy.

Jezierski told the Pioneer Press she’s used her voice to support initiatives affecting residents and community members and has been a part of the district’s Instructional Program Review committee and Strategic Planning Committee.

“Both of these experiences have provided me the opportunity to learn more about the district and the process in which important decisions are made,” Jezierski said to the Pioneer Press.

Jezierski’s priorities include working toward a sustainable future through financial stability, increasing learner enrollment, advocating at the state level for increased funding, and collaborating with stakeholders.
