Turkiye September 2024: Renault (-17.3%) outsells Fiat (-50.3%)

The Renault Clio is the best-selling car in Turkiye in September.

Turkish new light vehicle sales drop -9.4% year-on-year in September to 87,740 units. This means the year-to-date tally isn’t at record heights anymore at -0.3% to 849,892. Renault (-17.3%) skids down but grabs the brand top spot off a freefalling Fiat (-50.3%). The French carmaker holds 11% of the market vs. 10.8% year-to-date while the Italian brand is down to 8.8% vs. 11.9%. Ford (+4.7%) dies the negative context at 8.4% share in third place above Volkswagen (-4.1%) at 6.7%. The next four manufacturers all post positive results, with Toyota (+37.3%) faring best above Opel (+28.6%), Hyundai (+11.1%) and Peugeot (+4.6%). Nissan (+59.1%), Skoda (+47.4%) and BMW (+29%) also shine below. Local EV maker Togg (-0.2%) is back up to #16 with 2.5% share after a mediocre August result (0.7% share). Newcomer Jaecoo stays at #24 with 0.8% share.

Model-wise (PC only), the Renault Clio easily takes the lead with 5.8% share, dethroning the Fiat Egea Sedan at 4.4%. The Renault Megane sedan completes the podium ahead of the Tesla Model Y and Nissan Qashqai. The Togg T10X rallies back up 34 ranks on last month to #6 vs. #7 year-to-date, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro/Max is up 21 to #7 and the Toyota Corolla Sedan up 21 to #10. Notice also the Toyota C-HR up to #11 vs. #32 YTD, the Hyundai Tucson up to #13 vs. #27, the Skoda Superb at #18 and the BMW X1 at #22.
