Chicago Bears offensive guard Cody Whitehair sells Vernon Hills home for $625,000

Chicago Bears offensive guard Cody Whitehair and his wife, Hannah, in April sold their four-bedroom, 2,896-square-foot house in Vernon Hills for $625,000.

Whitehair, 31, has been with the Bears since 2016 and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2018.

Whitehair paid $545,000 in 2020 to buy the house from then-teammate Leonard Floyd, who had paid $452,500 for the house just two years earlier.

Now, Whitehair has sold the house, which is in the Gregg’s Landing master planned development. Built in 2000, the home has 2 ½ bathrooms, all-new hardwood floors and a two-story family room with a floor-to-ceiling stacked stone fireplace with a beam mantel. The kitchen has white cabinetry, quartz countertops, a marble backsplash, stainless steel appliances and sliding glass doors to a deck.

Other features include a full finished basement with a recreation room and a theater room, and a first-floor primary bedroom suite with vaulted ceilings, double sinks with quartz countertops, a whirlpool tub and a glass shower.

Whitehair sold the house in an off-market transaction.

The Vernon Hills house had a $15,935 property tax bill in the 2022 tax year.
