FOOTBALL

Ben Scalzi’s third touchdown pass of the game, a 34-yarder to Mehki Bryan with 9:32 left, gave top-seeded Hanover (11-0) a hard-fought 27-24 win over No. 5 Danvers in a Div. 5 state semifinal.

Alex Barlow rushed for 135 yards and a pair of scores as No. 1 Duxbury (9-1) defeated No. 4 Tewksbury 19-7 in a Div. 4 state semifinal. The Dragons will face Scituate in a rematch of the 2021 Div. 4 final.

Patrick Miller threw three TD passes, while Nathan Ehui ran for two scores as No. 3 Milton (8-3) defeated 10th-seeded Westfeld 37-14 in a Div. 3 state semifinal.

Justin Marques ran for 247 yards and five touchdowns on 44 carries as No. 8 Fairhaven (10-1) held off fourth-seeded Hudson 40-37 in a Div. 6 semifinal. Colby Correia added 152 yards and a touchdown on six carries.

Jamie McNamara ran for a pair of scores as No. 1 West Boylston (11-0) blanked No. 4 Cathedral 36-0 in a Div. 8 semifinal.

Charly Gublin threw for three scores and ran for a fourth as Hamden Hall (9-0) held off Dexter Southfield 35-34 to win the Joe Lang Bowl. Dexter Southfield (6-2) made things interesting as they scored 20 points in the fourth quarter on TD runs as Chase Halfkenny and Quinn Carver as well as a 6-yard TD pass from Joe McCauley to Mike Bonsu, but they were stopped on a potential go-ahead 2-point run.

Amir Lindsey caught four passes for 222 yards and four scores as Rivers captured the Bob Souza Bowl with a 42-20 win over Pingree. He also picked off three passes. … Michael Landolfi threw three TD passes as Lawrence Academy defeated St. Paul’s 28-15 to capture the Bob Souza Bowl.

GIRLS SOCCER

Addy Jerome scored the game-winning goal with 12 minutes left as second-seeded Sutton (17-4-2) defeated No. 1 South Hadley 2-1 for the Div. 4 state title.

Ciara Monaghan registered a hat trick as No. 2 Monson (22-0-1) knocked off top-seeded Whitinsville Christian 4-0 to win the Div. 5 state title.

Delia Loughnane scored twice as Dexter Southfield (12-5-1) defeated Suffield 3-1 in a NEPSAC Class B semifinal.

BOYS SOCCER

Nyzaiah Pacheco netted the game-winner in a shootout as No. 8 Westport (22-0-1) edged second-seeded Douglas 1-0 to win the Div. 5 state title.

Dillon Reilly scored the game’s only goal with less than 18 minutes remaining to give No. 2 Lynnfield (19-2-2) a 1-0 win over ninth-seeded Monomoy in the Div. 4 championship contest.
