Changan delivers the biggest YoY gain in the Top 10.

The Panamanian new light vehicle market is stable in August at +0.06% year-on-year to 4,871 units. This leads to a year-to-date tally up 8.3% to 41,258. Toyota (+0.3%) follows the market at 19.1% share, well above the 17.8% it commands year-to-date. Hyundai (+25%) once again impresses and climbs to 13.2% share vs. 12.6% so far this year but Kia (-15.6%) is in dire straits at #3. Changan (+36.9%) and Dongfeng (+29.3%) are the biggest gainers in the Top 10, with Isuzu (+5.5%) also in positive and Nissan stable. Further down, notice BYD (+141.9%), Soueast (+125%), Volkswagen (+108.3%) and Jaecoo (+86.4%).

Model-wise, the Hyundai Grand i10 (+18.1%) lodges a stunning 7th straight month at #1, distancing the Kia Soluto (+3.5%). Leader last year, the Toyota Hilux (+1.2%) is stuck in third place and ranks #2 year-to-date. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+28.7%) follows ahead of the Isuzu D-Max (+22.3%). The Suzuki Jimny (#9) and Toyota Prado (#10) are back inside the Top 10, the latter for the first time since last March.
