The Toyota Yaris is the best-selling vehicle in Greece for the third month in a row.

In July, the Greek new car market edges down -2.6% year-on-year to 13,252 units, bringing the year-to-date tally to 97,217 (+5.9%). Toyota (+23.4%) surges ahead to 20.2% share, its highest since August 2024 (record 23.1%). Suzuki (+8.8%) is far below at 8.4%, yet this is a strong showing given its YTD level stands at 6.9%. Peugeot (+5.9%) falls to #3 despite beating the market. Chery (+481%) is up six-fold year-on-year to reach a record 9th place overall, also hit in December 2025. Citroen (+90.6%) and MG (+44.1%) both deliver splendid upticks in the remainder of the Top 10.

Model-wise, Toyota manages a 1-2 again with the Yaris (+30%) repeating at #1 ahead of the YTD leader the Toyota Yaris Cross (+3.5%). The Peugeot 2008 (+9.5%) is back up five spots on June to close out the podium above the Suzuki Vitara (+0.9%) and Swift (+22.6%). The new Chery Tiggo 4 is up 12 ranks on last month to #6, its second highest ranking below the #4 it reached last December. Outstanding performance also by the MG 3 (+267.9%) breaking into the Top 10 for the first time at #10. The Fiat Grande Panda advances to #14, the Omoda 5 (+2122.2%) is up to #19 and the Citroen C5 Aircross (+270.2%) shoots up to #21. The new Omoda 9 ranks #33.

In August, we have a mediocre result: sales plummet -37.1% year-on-year to just 5,153 units. This is the weakest single month volume since pandemic-plagued May 2020 (4,497). The year-to-date tally however remains in positive at +2.4% to 102,370. Toyota (-36.1%) falls to 15.8% share whereas Suzuki (-1.1%) resists fantastically well in 2nd place at 8.4% of the market. Peugeot (-17.4%) stays at #3 while the next six carmakers endure steep falls: Citroen (-55.1%) and Hyundai (-54.4%) are the worst hit with Renault (-42.2%) and Opel (-39.7%) also in trouble. Volkswagen (-37.4%) and MG (-34.5%) are closer to the market’s fall rate. Kia (+24.4%), Skoda (+32.6%) and Chery (+14.3%) resist just as newcomer Aion climbs five spots on July to #21 with 1.2% share. 

Over in the models charts, the Toyota Yaris (+22.7%) threepeats at #1 with 5.8% share vs. 4.3% year-to-date, distancing the Peugeot 2008 (-30.7%) and Suzuki Vitara (+21.6%). The Citroen C3 (-44.3%) is back up 9 spots on July but struggles year-on-year while the Suzuki Swift (-13.2%) rounds out the Top 5 like last month. The Hyundai i20 (-25.5%) and Toyota Aygo X (+18.6%) follow, ahead of the MG ZS Max (-32.6%), Kia Picanto (+23.7%) and Opel Mokka (+4.3%). Still leader YTD by far, the Toyota Yaris Cross (-85.1%) falls to a paltry #14 for the month.
