Cyprus July 2026: Kia and Stonic strengthen lead
The Kia Stonic is by far the best-selling vehicle in Cyprus in July.
According to our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, new car sales in Cyprus drop -4.9% year-on-year in July to 1,368 units. This means the year-to-date volume is now off -10.8% to 8,612. Market leader Kia (+51.4%) goes completely against the market to sport a phenomenal YoY gain and reach 20.2% share, the brand’s third time above 20% in the past four months. In contrast Toyota (-19.4%) craters at #2 but BMW (+54.9%) and Mercedes (+11.9%) both shine. BYD (+2066.7%) delivers once more the biggest gain in the Top 10 but recedes from a record breaking #3 with 9.8% share last month to #6 and 4.8%. Skoda (+86.2%) and Jeep (+62.1%) also make themselves noticed while newcomer BAIC is up to #15 with 2% share.
Over in the models charts, the Kia Stonic (+149%) goes ballistic to 8.9% share, leaving the Kia Sportage (-4.8%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (-19.3%) in the dust. The Jeep Avenger (+246.2%), Kia Picanto (+178.6%) and VW T-Cross (+105.9%) also post surreal YoY gains to round out the Top 6. Below the Renault Captur (+287.5%), the BYD Seal U (+2800%) celebrates one year in market at #10. The BYD Atto 3 and Dolphin Surf slip back outside the Top 20.
Previous month: Cyprus June 2026: BYD up to record 9.8% share, places Atto 3 at #2
One year ago: Cyprus July 2025: Top 16 100% SUV, Toyota Yaris Cross up to #3
