As we do most years, we attended this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026 on Sunday, 12 July. The weather was absolutely scorching, as it had been for the previous two to three weeks. So there was no green grass to be seen anywhere and people were looking for shade where they could.

The event was super busy, the weather was super hot, and there was loads going on, as always. It can all be a little overwhelming. Because of this, it’s always best to plan what you want to do and see. That way you can get that done first.

Taking my own advice, I headed for my favourite areas first, which were the Cartier Style et Luxe. We did a video walk around that you can see below and on our YouTube channel. We also put together our top 10 favourite cars from the Cartier Style et Luxe. It’s always hard to choose just 10 cars when all 20-plus cars on display are great, rare and iconic. However, we managed to whittle them down to our 10 favourites. Here are a few pictures from the Cartier Style et Luxe below. There is much more detail about each individual car in our post.

Vintage racing and rally cars

We then headed over to the vintage racing cars from the 1930s, where there were also some rally cars featuring a few of my favourites. Pictures are below.

Supercars

Next, we headed over to the supercar paddock, which is always incredibly busy. It was hard to get photos without people being in the way, but we did our best.

I thought the Pagani Huayra Codalunga Speedster (below) was pretty amazing, as you’d expect. However, it also made me realise that, as much as I like a supercar or hypercar, I just don’t think they’re very practical in today’s world. They’re not a very good use of my money. What do you think?

The Ferrari Stand

Ferrari had 4 cars on display from their current line up of cars on sale now.

I then spent an hour or two just meandering and walking around the show, looking at all the retailers and buying a few bits.

Denza Z supercar

I also checked out some new cars, including the Denza Z supercar (below) and the massive show centre that BYD had. They certainly made a statement with what was probably the biggest stand at the show.

Audi Nuvolari

The Audi Nuvolari (below) is Audi’s most powerful and fastest production car ever— a limited-edition (499 will be made). A1,001 PS hybrid hypercar serving as the spiritual successor to the R8. Priced over $700,000 (£500,000), it uses a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors to hit 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds. I think it looks cool, but the price tag, no thanks.

I’d normally stay for the entire show, and on Sunday I would usually remain until the final runs up the hill, which are the fastest runs of the weekend. However, given that I was slightly hungover from the evening before, after England thankfully beat Norway in the World Cup quarter-final, and I’d had very little sleep, I was also getting cooked by the sun. So, I decided to leave a little earlier than normal.

Like everyone who attends the Goodwood Festival of Speed, I find it’s pretty similar every year. It’s a great day out for sure, however, as I get older though, I am finding the number of people in attendance, travel to leave the venue, a bit overwhelming, and the prices for food and admission are very high.
