Patriots-Bills injury report: Two New England starters cleared, LB Robert Spillane questionable for Sunday
Inside linebacker Robert Spillane is the Patriots’ only player listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Buffalo.
The team cleared left guard Jared Wilson (ankle) and outside linebacker Harold Landry (shoulder), who were limited and missing, respectively, for stretches of practice this week. Wilson has been out since he was carted off on the first drive of the Patriots’ win at Cincinnati on Nov. 23.
Spillane is dealing with a hurt foot that first popped up on Thursday’s injury report. He is the Pats’ defensive signal-caller, captain and leading tackler this season. He has 97 tackles, a sack, two interceptions and a forced fumble. If Spillane cannot play, Jack Gibbens (52 tackles in 13 game appearances) would likely replace him in the starting lineup next to Christian Elliss.
Third-string running back Terrell Jennings is the only player out for New England. He did not practice this week due to a concussion. Veteran backup D’Ernest Johnson is poised to replace him on the 53-man roster, according to Mike Vrabel. Johnson has taken four carries this season for the Patriots and gained seven yards.
In Buffalo, the Bills did not rule out a single player, but listed three as questionable on their injury report.
