Poll: Is the Dems’ fight for health care worth shutting down government?
As the government remains shut down with no end in sight, the Herald is launching a poll asking its readers if the shutdown is worth it.
The shutdown has entered its fourth week, and Americans are feeling its effects on air travel, infrastructure funding, and more – not to mention the bank accounts of federal employees who have gone without pay this month. The shutdown is on track to be the longest in U.S. history.
Senate Democrats have voted more than 10 times against stop-gap spending bills, demanding that Congress take up health care benefits.
But should they hold the government hostage, as the Republicans describe it, to make those health care goals happen?
In our latest poll, we ask Herald readers if the health care fight is worth a government shutdown:
No, get back to work
Yes, health care tax credits are key
I’ve given up on Congress
There should be a law against shutdowns
Take our poll at the link here, and see the results in print and at bostonherald.com next week.
