The Kia Ceed is the best-selling vehicle in Slovakia in August.

New car sales in Slovakia drop -6% year-on-year in August to 6,679 units, leading to a year-to-date tally off -1.3% to 60,266. Skoda (-15%) remains ultra dominant at 17.3% share, albeit well below its YTD level of 20.6%. Volkswagen (+43.9%) surges to 11.7% of the market vs. 9.7% so far this year, distancing Kia (-3.7%) at a round 10%. Toyota (+0.3%) and Hyundai (-6.3%) round out the Top 5. Suzuki (+201.5%) and Ford (+71.2%) post surreal gains in the remainder of the Top 10, while further down Alfa Romeo (+980%), Cupra (+92.9%) and Honda (+69.6%) stand out.

Over in the models charts, the Kia Ceed (+9.1%) edges past the Skoda Octavia (+26.9%) for just 1 sale to lodge its first win since last January. The Ceed is up to #2 year-to-date vs. #4 over the Full Year 2024. The Skoda Fabia (-14.1%) follows at #3 ahead of the Kia Sportage (+12.1%) and VW T-Cross (+116.5%). The Hyundai Tucson (+91%) and i20 (+19.8%) also shine below, with the Suzuki S-Cross (+523.8%), Ford Kuga (+292%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (+132.7%) even more impressive further down.
