The Hyundai Grand i10 is the most popular vehicle in Panama in August.

New light vehicle sales in Panama in August stand at 4,868 units, up 6.6% on last year. This way, the YTD tally is up 7.8% to 38,111. Toyota (+0.2%) is stable and easily holds onto the brands top spot with 19% share. Kia (+0.0%) is also stable in 2nd place with 13.7% of the market, followed by a freefalling Hyundai (-18.8%). In contrast Suzuki (+23.5%), Jetour (+22.8%), Mitsubishi (+13.9%) and Isuzu (+10.7%) all shine with double-digit gains in the remainder of the Top 10. Chinese brands monopolise surges with JMC up 400%, Kaiyi up 333.3%, Dongfeng up 253.6% and GWM up 150%.

Model-wise, this month the Hyundai Grand i10 (+42.9%) takes the lead, leapfrogging past the Kia Soluto (-10.1%) and the Toyota Hilux (-12.8%). The Toyota Yaris Cross (+17.1%) and Kia Sonet round out the Top 5. The Toyota Corolla Cross, Isuzu D-Max and Kia K3 also appear in the Top 10.
