Dongfeng sales are up 93.6% year-on-year in August.

It’s another very satisfying month for new vehicle sales in Ecuador: up 13.3% year-on-year in August to 10,357 units. Keep in mind however that August 2024 was off -18.4% on the year prior. The year-to-date tally is now up 2.9% to 77,306. Kia (+19.5%) doubles down on its pole position with 17% share vs. 16.4% so far this year. 2025 turns out to be catastrophic for Chevrolet, freefalling -39% year-on-year in August at just 12% share vs. 13.7% year-to-date. GWM (+120.3%), Hyundai (+95.1%) and Dongfeng (+93.6%) deliver the biggest YoY gains in the Top 10 while below, BYD (+277.6%), Foton (+56.4%) and Sinotruk (+60.4%) stand out. Model-wise, the Kia Soluto is head and shoulders above the competition with 7.5% share, identical to its YTD level. The Chevrolet Groove overtakes the D-Max for just one sale to snap the 2nd place, with the Kia Sonet and GWM Poer rounding out the Top 5. The Kia Seltos is up to #6.
