Another outstanding month for new car sales in Austria at +25.3% YoY in August to 21,452 units. This leads to a year-to-date tally up 10.7% to 189,370. The Top 3 carmakers trail the market with Volkswagen (+11%) and Skoda (+17.2%) still in positive but BMW (-6.9%) struggling. Audi (+26.1%) is back up two spots on July to #4, distancing Mercedes (+46%), Seat (+45.2%) and Dacia (+38.3%) all in excellent shape. But it’s Hyundai (+147.%) at 5% share vs. 3.5% YTD and Cupra (+105.1%) that deliver the best performances in the Top 10. Just below, BYD (+131%) breaks its ranking (#11), volume (774) and share (3.6%) records all at once. Fiat (+267%) and MG (+138.6%) also shine below.

Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+37.2%) stays on top above the VW Golf (+46%) just as the Dacia Bigster confirms it is an instant blockbuster in Austria, lodging its second consecutive podium finish at #3. The Skoda Karoq (+98.2%) is up 8 spots on last month to #4, the Seat Leon (+211.9%) up 11 to #5 and the BYD Seal (+36.6%) breaks its ranking record at #6. The Mercedes GLC (+76.9%), Seat Arona (+50.7%), VW Bus (+89.7%), Skoda Enyaq (+85.5%) and Hyundai i10 (+1562.5%) also make themselves noticed with fantastic gains.
