Mike Vrabel divulges Patriots starting lineup information ahead of Week 1

FOXBORO — The Patriots will have at least one rookie starting on the left side of their offensive line Sunday.

Third-round pick Jared Wilson will be the Patriots’ starting left guard in Week 1 against the Raiders, according to head coach Mike Vrabel. If healthy, Will Campbell will be the Patriots’ starting left tackle, but he’s questionable to play Sunday with an ankle injury. Campbell had a wrap on his left ankle while walking through the locker room on Friday.

Vrabel also said that cornerback Alex Austin will fill in for Christian Gonzalez, who’s out with a hamstring injury, at cornerback. He also noted that Marcus Jones, the Patriots’ top nickel defensive back, “will play,” which suggests that he could spend some time outside.

Finally, Vrabel said that all of the Patriots’ active wide receivers will see time on offense. Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte and Mack Hollins have all seen time with the starting offense. Rookies Kyle Williams and Efton Chism are also on the 53-man roster.
