Red Sox lineups: Brayan Bello to take mound for series opener vs. Guardians
September is officially here, and the Red Sox will kick off the final month of the regular season with a Labor Day matinee against the Cleveland Guardians.
Brayan Bello (10-6, 2.99) will take the ball as the Red Sox open up a three-game series against the Guardians. Bello is scheduled to face off against Guardians lefty Parker Messick (1-0, 0.66).

To counter the left-hander, the Red Sox are loading up with righty bats.
Six of Boston’s top seven hitters on Monday are righties. After lefty Roman Anthony leads off the Red Sox will go Alex Bregman, Trevor Story, Romy Gonzalez, Rob Refsnyder, Nate Eaton and Ceddanne Rafaela.
Jarren Duran, who is batting .208 with a .584 OPS against lefties this season, will come off the bench.
Entering the day the Red Sox are third in the AL East, trailing the Toronto Blue Jays by 3.5 games and the New York Yankees by a half-game for second in the division and first in the AL Wild Card race. The Yankees are off on Monday, while the Blue Jays are set to open a series against the Cincinnati Reds.
