Man shot, killed in standoff with Fall River Police: DA
Fall River Police shot and killed a man during an hours-long armed standoff.
Domonick Knight, 38, died following a standoff with police early Tuesday morning, according to a brief statement from the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.
Fall River Police were dispatched to 117 Langley St. at roughly 1:30 a.m. Tuesday for reports of an armed man inside that residence and making statements of self-harm. Police evacuated the other residence and then attempted to negotiate with Knight, according to the DA statement.
After negotiations stalled, police were able to force entry to the residence at about 3:15 a.m. Police and Knight shot at one another. Knight was then found on the second-floor landing suffering fro a gunshot wound and with two guns nearby, according to the DA release.
Knight was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
“This is an ongoing and active investigation,” per the DA office statement. “An autopsy along with other forensic testing is pending. No further information can be disseminated at this time.”
