Gallery: Alvin Ailey aspirations
Aspiring dancers of all ages got the chance to learn moves from members of the legendary dance troupe Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater this weekend.
Ailey teaching artists and former company dancers Renee Robinson and Amos Machanic, Jr., along with Ailey percussionist Roderick Jackson held a series of workshops in Boston to teach the iconic dance “Revelations” on Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday’s workshop was held at the Chez-Vous roller rink in Dorchester.
Events Saturday included workshops at the Boston Renaissance Charter School in Hyde Park, the Brooke Charter High School in Mattapan and the YMCA in Roxbury.
The neighborhood events were scheduled ahead of a series of performances in Boston, April 24-27.
