Turkiye February 2025: Toyota up to record #2, places Corolla Sedan in the lead

The Toyota Corolla Sedan is the best-selling vehicle in Turkiye in February.

90,730 new light vehicles found a new Turkish home in February, a -14.4% decline on a record February 2024. This month is however still the 2nd best February in Turkish history. The year-to-date tally is now off 159,384, also the 2nd highest in history. Renault (-23.9%) remains the favourite carmaker in the country despite a harsh year-on-year drop. Toyota (+43.8%) is up a further three spots on January to #2 and 10.3% share vs. #9 over the Full Year 2024. This the Japanese brand’s highest ranking and share ever, beating its previous best of #3 and 9.8% in January 2021. Fiat (-48.3%) is in total freefall at #4 with Volkswagen (-8.4%) rounding out the Top 5. Hyundai (+7.6%) defies the negative market at #6. In contrast with the rest of the world, the performance of the month is delivered by Tesla going from 0 sale in January to 3,310 and 3.6% share this month, cracking the Top 10 for the first time at #9. These are new ranking, volume and share records for the brand, eclipsing its previous best of #14 and 2.8% in September 2024 and 2,670 in June 2024. Note it is possible that January and February sales are combined together. BYD (+1074.1%) continues to gear up but drops three spots on January to #10.

Over in the Passenger Cars models ranking, the Toyota Corolla Sedan (+5%) snaps the top spot with 6% share, distancing the Renault Clio (-30.3%) down one rank to #2. The Tesla Model Y shoots up to #3 ahead of the Fiat Egea Sedan (-28.8%) and Renault Megane Sedan (-29.8%) both posting atrocious performances. The Toyota C-HR (+306%) quadruples its year-ago volume and ascends to #6, even ranking #5 year-to-date vs. #31 over the Full Year 2024. Hero of last month, the BYD Seal U falls two spots to a still outstanding #7. Local EV Togg T10X (+104.2%) is still among the Turkish best-sellers. Hyundai has the i20 up 28.4% to #10 and the Bayon up 17.9% to #12.
