Man stabbed outside Massachusetts courthouse: State Police

A man suffered a “serious” stab wound during a fight outside a local courthouse on Monday, according to Mass State Police.

Medford Police alerted State Police of a “disturbance” involving a knife in front of the Mystic Valley Parkway courthouse at around noon.

“Preliminary information indicates that 5 men were involved in the altercation who have been detained,” State Police said in a statement.

“One person suffered a serious, non-life-threatening stab wound,” police added.

Troopers from the Medford Barracks, the Troop A Community Action Team, the K-9 Unit, the Air Wing, the Middlesex County Detectives Unit, Crime Scene Services Section, and A Troop Detectives responded to the scene to investigate.

Medford Fire and EMS also responded.

The matter remains under investigation by the State Police.
