Ayanna Pressley walks out of Trump address to Congress, Trump calls Warren ‘Pocahontas’

Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley said she walked out of President Trump’s address to Congress Tuesday night, saying she “could not stand one more second.”

Meanwhile, Trump during his address called Sen. Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas.”

Pressley, the Massachusetts congresswoman, said she attended Trump’s speech to honor her guest who was recently laid off by the Trump administration.

“However, I could not in good conscience sit through this speech and give an audience to someone who operates with lawless disregard for Congress and the people of this nation,” Pressley said in a statement.

“I could not stand one more second,” she said in a social media video outside the House floor.

Pressley said Trump does not respect Congress as a co-equal branch of government.

“This man who has no respect for Congress, does not respect us as a co-equal branch of government, who has put us into a constitutional crisis,” Pressley said.

She called the speech “chilling.”
