Ethan Edwards scored a power-play goal with 1 minute, 37 seconds left in overtime to lift Michigan to a 3-2 victory in a Big Ten hockey game in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Minnesota’s Jimmy Clark scored an even-strength goal on an assist by Aaron Huglen to knot the game 2-2 with 10:22 left in regulation. But 3 minutes into the extra frame, the Gophers’ Ryan Chesley was sent to the penalty box for hooking, and Edwards ended the game 24 seconds later.

Mason Nevers also scored for the Gophers (21-6-3 overall, 12-2-3 Big Ten).

Tyler Duke and T.J. Hughes each had a pair of assists, and Garrett Schifsky and Kienan Draper each scored regulation goals for the Wolverines (16-12-2, 10-9-1).

The teams meet again Saturday for a 5 p.m. puck drop.
