Nathan Mannie completes basic

Army Pvt. Nathan Mannie has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.He is the son of Mike Mannie of New Prague and Cheryl Neilsen of Prior Lake and is a 2005 graduate of New Prague High School.

UW-Madison dean’s list announced

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has recognized students named to the dean’s list for fall semester of the 2006-07 academic year. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester and achieve a grade point average of 3.75 or higher.Local students who received this honor are: Kevin Blair and Thomas Gilbert, both of Savage; Melissa Fuhrman, Megan Knaeble, Elisabeth Lundeen, Carole Mette, Alison Scott, Raluca Sima and Amanda Woelfel, all of Burnsville; and Emily Barsness, Samuel Dalsin, Benjamin Edeker, Stephanie Kumm, Mallory Retzlaff, Kelsey Schumacher and Patrick Snouffer, all of Prior Lake.

Brianne Mosell on dean’s list

Brianne Mosell of Savage is among the students named to the Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Worthington Campus fall semester 2006 dean’s list.Students must be enrolled in at least 12 graded credits and earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for dean’s list honors.

Abby Neal earns degree from TLU

Abby Neal has received a bachelor of arts degree from Texas Lutheran University. A graduate of Shakopee High School, she is the daughter of Charles and Debra VanHale of Savage.Diplomas were awarded on Dec. 18.

Loeher on Dean’s list

Emily Loehr of Savage is among the students at the University of Minnesota, Morris named to the fall semester dean’s list.To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a GPA of 3.67 for the semester, be registered for a minimum of 12 credits for the semester and have taken at least two-thirds of these credits on the A-F grading system.
