Thomas P. Sullivan
Thomas P. Sullivan died Oct. 12, 2007.
He was born May 28, 1928, at St. Paul, Minn., to Raymond B. and Gladys (Wilbur) Sullivan.
He attended St. Thomas Catholic School in International Falls, Minn., and received his theological training at St. Paul Seminary, Minn. He was ordained a priest May 30, 1953, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Duluth, Minn. He then served in the cities of Duluth, Cloquet, Hill City and Meadowlands.
In 1964, he transferred to the diocese of Bismarck, N.D., served at the Church of St. Joseph, Mandan; the Church of Saint Anne, Bismarck; the University of Mary; The Church of St. Bridget, the missions of Sacred Heart, Plaza; and St. Elizabeth, Makoti.
He also lived in Parshall, N.D., retired Aug. 1, 1998, and moved to the Twin Cities to be near family.
He spent his last couple of years at Cerenity Care Center in White Bear Lake, Minn.
Letters continue to come in from the people whose lives he has affected.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Pat, Jerry, John and Bob; as well as his parents.
He is survived by his brothers, Jim, Mike, Don (Bonnie), and Bill (Sandra); his sisters, Rosemary (Patrick) O’Neil, Junie O’Hea, and Bunny (Dan) Kearney; and many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and -nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial is set for noon Tuesday, Oct. 16, with visitation two hours prior at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 4741 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake.
Burial will be at a later date in Bismarck.
Mueller Memorial Lake Chapel, St. Paul, is in charge of arrangements.
