Rainy Lake Girl Scouts completed a successful fall product sale. Top sellers were Brownies Scotta Turner, Troop 150, selling 66 items and Michelle Long, Troop 162, selling 65 items.

Seniors Jay Schulz and Jennifer Brekke were chosen Winter Sports king and queen at Falls High School.
Shelly Bilben, daughter of Sharon and Dan Bilben of International Falls, was given the December Chum of the Month award for her faithfulness and memory work in Awana.

The U.S. Navy counted 24 dead, 85 injured and 17 missing today after a series of explosions and fire swept the flight deck of the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Enterprise on a training exercise. Mrs. Alice Marble, 1108 Eighth St., was informed by telephone about 9:30 a.m. today that her son, Harold Norton Marble, 39, ETC. U.S. Navy, survived the explosion aboard the world’s largest airship.
SP/4 Robert LePage, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond LePage Jr., of Loman Route, is home and discharged from the U.S. Army. He served nine months in Vietnam.
Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Batcher, 1410 Third Ave. E., announce the marriage Jan. 11 of their daughter, Beverly Lynn, to Leslie Raymond Bragg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bragg, Jameson Addition.
Donna Diane Buechler, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Leo H. Buechler, became the bride of Robert M. Frederickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. F.T. Frederickson, in a ceremony at Faith United Church on Saturday evening at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Cora Faille and Mrs. Mabel Johnson, Carr Hotel, were honored at a farewell party at the Legion clubrooms by fellow Chicago Cafe employees. Mrs. Faille plans to leave in the near future to visit her sons and Mrs. Faille will make her home with her sons and families.
Penney Arney and Bonnie Goulet, Falls High School seniors, went by train last Thursday to Minneapolis where they were guests of Penney’s sister, Barbara, a student at the University of Minnesota.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Nelson, 509 11th Ave., were honored Saturday evening at a buffet dinner in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary. The event was held at the John Vatnsdal home, 1011 Seventh St.
Oscar M. Alstrom, 69, retired Mando employee, died Wednesday aboard the steamer Bergenfjord, en route home after four months visit in Norway.

David Anderson, son of Mrs. Dorothy Anderson, 822 Ninth St., has enrolled at Dunwoody Institute, Minneapolis, for a course in printing.
Mrs. Fred Hendee, Keyes Arcade, was entertained at a stork shower last night in the home of Mrs. Vernon Jones, 807 Seventh St. Additional hostesses were Mrs. Francis Robbie and Mrs. Clifford Thompson.
Mrs. Elwood Berg, 304 1/2 Eighth St., was honored guest at a stork shower last night at the home of Mrs. Wallace McCartney, Highway 53.
D.C. Tyson, 71, veteran Mando employee, suffered injuries to his left hand in an accident at the Insulite plant early today. This mishap occurred about 3 a.m. as Tyson was cleaning a tar-coating machine on the Insulite fifth floor. Reports said his hand was crushed.
