What does it mean to you to be nominated for Athlete of the Year/Scholar Athlete of the Year?
I am grateful to be a nominee for the athlete/scholar athlete of the year. I have put an abundance of time and effort into succeeding in athletics. My time commitment and dedication to Litchfield athletics has been a large part of my life and something I love being a part of.
What’s your most memorable athletic moment at LHS?
The most memorable moments throughout my athletic career have been qualifying for the state track and field meet as a 4×200-meter team relay with my sister (Vail Kaping, a 2021 LHS graduate) and individually as a pole vaulter.
What have you learned from your participation in athletics at Litchfield High School?
I have learned the importance of self-discipline and having positive surroundings. I set many goals for myself and it takes self-discipline to stay on track and make healthy decisions to achieve those goals. Surrounding myself with positive individuals has taught me the importance of encouraging teammates and motivating each other to be the best we can be!
Who’s the teammate you most admire? Why?
The teammate I most admire is Lillia Chvatal for her hard work and self- discipline. I have loved being her teammate and competing against her amazing athleticism!
Any athletic plans after high school?
I plan to attend Bethel University to continue my athletic career on the varsity track and field team!
