Police arrest 2 suspects in weekend slaying of teenager in St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Two people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting of a St. Cloud teenager last weekend.

Olivia Sandra Williams and Quinton Lynell McNeal, both 19 and of St. Cloud, were arrested Tuesday and taken to the Benton County jail pending charges, according to a Wednesday news release from the St. Cloud Police Department.

Police responded to a report of gunshots at 2:55 a.m. Sunday in an apartment building in the 200 block of Second Street Northeast in St. Cloud.

When they arrived, officers found one male with gunshot wounds in a first-floor apartment hallway and another male with a gunshot wound in a stairwell between the first and second floors.

The male in the stairwell, Layson Davis, 17, of St. Cloud, was declared dead at the scene, according to police. The male in the hallway, identified only as a 19-year-old from St. Joseph, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital in critical condition.

Police said the suspects and victims knew each other before the shooting. The case remains active and additional arrests are expected, according to police.
