FOXBORO — Patriots offensive lineman Cole Strange is expected to play this season, but won’t suit up Sunday against the Colts, according to head coach Jerod Mayo.

The Patriots can wait to activate Strange off the Physically Unable to Perform list and onto their active roster until Dec. 10. Strange completed his second week of practice Friday, when the team hit the field for the last time before facing the Colts. After Sunday’s game, the Pats will hit their bye week and then return for a Week 14 kickoff at Arizona.

Strange, a first-round pick in 2022, hasn’t played this season due to a torn patellar tendon he suffered last December. The Patriots have shuffled their starting offensive line all season due to injuries. Strange has been practicing at guard and center since returning to the field last week. He’s started all 27 career games at left guard.

After their trip to Arizona on Dec. 15, the Patriots will travel to Buffalo the following week and host the Chargers and Bills to close out their season.

On Tuesday, the Patriots released starting left guard Michael Jordan, who later re-signed to the practice squad. Jordan’s departure opens up snaps for players like Strange, fourth-round rookie Layden Robinson and potentially 2023 fourth-round pick Sidy Sow.
