The Gophers and Notre Dame traded goals late in the period before Rinzel’s second power-play tally with 24 seconds remaining before intermission staked the visitors to a 4-2 advantage.
Minnesota and Notre Dame allowed one another a power-play goal in the third period before junior forward Connor Kurth’s empty netter with just over 90 seconds to play finished off the night.
